Once again ........ a garden reveals its magic
"Growing Corn
There was a Nebraska farmer who grew award-winning corn.
Each year he entered his corn in the state fair where it won a blue ribbon...
One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learned something interesting about how he grew it.
The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors.
The reporter asked, "How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year?"
To which the farmer replied, "Why sir, didn't you know? The wind picks up pollen from the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field. If my neighbors grow inferior corn, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of my corn. If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbors grow good corn."
The farmer was very much aware of the connectedness of life.
His corn could not improve - unless his neighbor's corn also improved.
And so it is for us all.
Those who choose to be at peace - must help their neighbors to be at peace.
Those who choose to live well - must help their neighbors to live well.
And those who choose to be happy - must help others to find happiness. The welfare of each is bound up with the welfare of all.
The value of a life is measured by the lives it touches."

It seems now prophetic that tonight a full moon, I am restless and without sleep. Yet the creative juices percolate and I am alive with creativity....
and discovery of just how to take a rather dramatic change in my business and my ability to conduct business with my floral design studio.....
location, and methodology has been forced to change due to the sale of the precious farm on which I lived.......
and tonight...... I've had an AHA ! I've long been fascinated by the you tube video “Nature by Numbers.” the spectacular video created to demonstrate the sacred geometry and mathematical equations in nature that are consistent, intelligent, and are the very core symmetry and cause for creation itself....

It has magic, consistency, constancy, and is one thing assured that one can trust will remain the same...a mathematical equation of perfection and sameness....... never wavering......never changing......and is the very base tone on which “life” rises... It is the core essence of life itself.....and tonight it speaks loudly.... You've known for some time my fascination with sunflowers and their extraordinary beauty.......
and tonight I have a profound AHA... “a perfect demonstration of why it is good to take time to get quiet, become still, quiet the noise.......turn off the computer, the tv, the phone and let nature speak ….
It always has the answer.......Always.... Its just a matter of whether you will Or in this case tonight …. I will listen.....
Sunflowers are mathematical in their nature, in their very construction and design..... AND they are food...... I understand too that sunflowers were planted in the area around Fukushima as I was informed that they soak up radiation and are able to transmute it....
I'll have to verify the transmutation statement.... However, tonight as I was peeling a $20 bag of fire roasted chilis...... and packaging them for the winter to have fresh green chilis throughout the winter I was taken by the sheer delight of harvest.... and how the simplest of foods can bring such happiness to my “state” I LOVE the flavors of the southwest. I love that they are abundantly available at my new “find” the local farmer's market on Sundays.....
What is more important is my awareness that sunflowers are abundant throughout the west and grow wild by the side of the road everywhere I have traveled in AZ, Colorado, New Mexico and environs... They withstand the cold in winter....to bloom again by volunteerism in late summer.....
Sunflowers are my new directive....... Will advise just what I'll do with them..... and for now please enjoy the photos captured in Washington and at the recently sold little farm on which I resided....
I was so very happy there and more so... I learned so much about myself and that which I truly love in life..... Now to apply that knowledge and “grow” my little flower business to beyond the bouquet....
With love and gratitude....in that listening to that persistent nagging internal voice has an intelligence that I could not begin to take credit for....
Its within all of us....one only need listen.... and it will guide you to the most perfect of days.......
and that is more than enough reason to smile.......broadly....!!!
It is the very reason and core purpose I've been committed to even in the promotion of the arts for so many years.......
Surely it is surprising to me to discover how very truly very few artists understand their connection to the natural world...... It is through art, however, and through my own work that I have delved deeply into this path of discovery......and it is through my art that I've found the connection and can articulate it …..
