The Art of Peace

I have been feeling
a great deal of freneticism in the last couple of days ?

....and you ?

Thanksgiving is a day and a weekend
where in the past we have unplugged for 4 or 5 days
to enjoy family, feasting and relaxation......

and in the last couple of days I have
more frustration on the other end of the phone
than normal.

and YOU ?

Make time for peace, personal reflection, relaxation
and rest.

Give yourself the freedom to open your mind to the unlimited nature
of nature itself......

You'll rest, you'll remember
that there is always a tomorrow......
and for today....and for now.....

take time to smell the roses....

and the roast turkey sandwiches......

Virtual Art Tours

Hey Everyone ~ I've been talking about this, and wanted to give you an update on what is happening for Jim Zuckerman since we featured him on Virtual Art Tours, #VAT on Twitter.

Jim's Collections "Horses of the Camargue" are being sold as a fundraiser for http://www.DropYourReins.com, the brain child of 15 year old entrepreneur Danielle Herb. For every print sold at the size of 36 x 54 Jim is giving $1,000 of the retail price to her organization ~ Each print retails for $2600 ~

Love his generosity

To further this...The collection titled "These United States" is also generating donation dollars for a variety of causes...Brad Bechler will be walking across the United States to raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina to further and support the educational programs that have been missing since the hurricane, The Lets Get Working, USA, program designed by C4WW ~ AND will provide scholarships for kids to get involved and learn the ART of Social Media for Business, Fun and Freedom of Expression for next summer's Social Media Blitz ~ 2010...

Jim Zuckerman is a fantastic photographer, with whom you can travel to remote destinations, worldwide, to better learn the ART of photography ~

The Missing Element ~ Successful Exhibitions

"What Are We Missing?

Hmmm ..something to think about...

Washington, DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. The man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approx. 2 thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

After 3 minutes a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to meet his schedule.

4 minutes later:

The violinist received his first dollar: a woman threw the money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.

6 minutes:

A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.

10 minutes:

A 3-year old boy stopped but his mother tugged him along hurriedly. The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. Every parent, without exception, forced their children to move on quickly.

45 minutes:

The musician played continuously. Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while. About 20 gave money, but continued to walk at their normal pace. The man collected a total of $32.

1 hour:

He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

Findings:

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world.

He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars.

Two days before Joshua Bell sold out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.

This is a true story.

Joshua Bell playing incognito in the Metro Station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste, and people's priorities.

The questions raised: "In a common place environment, at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty?

Do we stop to appreciate it?

Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context?"

One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be this: If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ever made....

How many other things are we missing?........."

In short...Choosing the right exhibition space IS your First Priority ~

Overcoming Procrastination

Do want to run like the wind, leap tall buildings in a single bound, and achieve your goals as an artist. Then one must "complete" their attachment to procrastination.

I am so pleased to announce a new alliance with The American Institute of Clinical Hypnosis and Master Hypnotist, Larry Volz. We are entering into a project where we will be training new facilitators, and there will also be available the additional services where we will be able to work with the subconscious and overcome the "obstacles" that keep us from completions.

Its an exciting new offering so I look forward to sharing this with you. If you would like more information about our upcoming classes....Please make sure to contact me directly

Happy 4th of July - America !!!

This week kicks off the first of many Twitter enabled Virtual Art Tours. Actively encouraging other artists to add Google Friend Connect to their Blog Gallery will allow Sian Design to share their original works with all of our clients, friends, and patrons, and vice - versa.

Its an exciting time to be able to share original art works in this way, and surely eliminates the high over head of retail galleries...

I welcome you to Sian Design and our Virtual Art Tour.
Please contact me directly so I can help you get set up to participate.

Again, Happy Birthday America
Love the freedoms we enjoy in the good old US 0f A
