Adays Tisai Adays

A new release from our friends in the UK
From BenJahmin Ji

We would love to hear your impressions
Thanks !

This is a piece of music that I find so
soothing now...that I often use it as "backup"
to my meditations. I find it inspiring, as it
certainly is not in the genre of traditional
meditation music but its got a special
"something" that has me intrigued.
I look forward to discovering more about
Benjahmin Ji ~

A New Direction for Sian Design

Did you know that every year when the Humpback whales return to the Hawaiian Islands to bear their young that their "song" changes ? ~ and it changes for the pod and extended species....I would imagine somewhat like a homing device

I don't know the purpose of the change, but I know that they change their tune ~

And it seems for me that with each year of my work as an artist I found that with each new year I was motivated to make a change in my work, the method of my work or to add some new major feature to my roster of services ~

This change that is upon me now has been one that lasted for nearly three years ~ A much longer duration....without any significant clarity along the way, except that change and growth was essential.

Cocooning if you will ~ reflective perhaps of the terminology once expressed in the book by Faith Popcorn titled " The Popcorn Report" which was an intuitive look at trends....

and the one.....Cocooning has certainly been with me these last three years.

I have mastered the art of working from home....and I have mastered the art of keeping my focus while working from home....and now the refinement is settling in as to how to have a home that is my own, rather than being a significant vagabond as I've had looser ties to the need to OWN things.

It is at this time that I am motivated to secure a destination, one that is, shared at times with others....
An intensive if you will, a retreat, a location where one can deepen their connection with self, with their full creative expression and to feel safe to do so...

It is at this time that I am intent to create a new home for myself, and after many journeys' back and forth across the United States, although predominantly the Western United States I am at long last intent to settle in New Mexico.

I have found a place where I would wish to reside....I have found a place that is comfortable and beautiful...and I have found the one thing that will allow me to live there in comfort with adequate income to acccomodate its acquisition.

We are to debut a school of sorts.....and educational program that will allow for a deepening of expression in both the arts and the study of self....a center for self mastery and a center for Master Classes in the Fine Arts and Music ~

I am home ~ I am at long last home ~ and I wouldn't trade the excitement and adventure in which I have immersed for anything in the world

Its been an amazing time...and I am so blessed to have received the training and clear guidance by which to initiate and actualize this location.

Its not my "dream" but in the dream state it is where I, at long last feel an appropriate direction in which to throw my full energy without reserve.

Will you join us ~

At first.....we shall have to find a name for this center....although as I write this request....the name that was given me now 20 + years ago

Sian .....a Mayan name meaning "Where the Sky is Born" ~ Seems to have an indication of its leanings.....a distinct cerulean blue surrounds this vision.....and a rich green hue of earth, trees, land and grasses......

We come home....We are home...
And I ask among you who also might feel compelled to join this endeavor
I am welcoming considerations as the property I have located can easily accomodate a number of people either full time or part time...and I am most interested in those who are excellent teachers

We have selected several and are now open to filling a schedule for the next two years that will bring about the deepest of realizations into self, via spiritual and personal growth and in the arts.

Welcome ~ and I am so open to recieve the vision in the most excellent of ways
We come full circle ... and so it is

If you would be interested to join us as teacher, student, facilitator or in any other way as a contributor please join our mailing list so that we can keep you advised of our upcoming news

BIOGRAPHY

Robert Girandola has been drawn to art from an early age. His first ‘waking memory’ is drawing a whale. Just six or seven years old, he recalls his father asking him if he would like to try his oil paints. He jumped at the chance and hasn’t put down the brushes since. Building on his natural talent, Girandola would spend hours every day painting or drawing. His hard work paid off early when as a teenager, "The Paint Box", oil on canvas, was chosen from artists across New Jersey, to hang in the final exhibit of the Teen Arts Festival at the NJ State Museum.

In addition to his love of painting and drawing, Robert loves science and philosophy. ‘I wanted to know everything about the human form.’ he explains, regarding his decision to study biology at Fairfield University. He worked on chemistry, cellular biology and calculus during the day and painted at night. The art department noticed his work, and awarded Girandola his own studio for independent study. At graduation the up and coming artist was awarded a rare honor afforded a science major, the Fairfield University Studio Art award.

Following college, Girandola worked as a research scientist applying his knowledge of molecular biology in the cutting edge field of immunodiagnostics. The work was fascinating but his passion for art was not satisfied. Robert applied to a graduate MFA program at Columbia University. One of just twenty-four artists selected, he enjoyed two exhilarating and intense years studying art. Top contemporary artists visited weekly, including Elizabeth Murray, Joel Shapiro and Gregory Amenoff.

Upon completion of his MFA, Robert was further recognized by renowned writer and art historian Rainer Crone to show in ‘Art of the New’ in NYC. In early 1990, he helped coordinate an exchange of art and artists with the now defunct Soviet Union. In an incredible journey that had a profound impact on Girandola’s view of the world, he made his way from West Germany, through East Germany, across Poland and a good portion of the Soviet Union. Robert was one of the first Westerners to pass through the smashed Berlin wall. Images of isolation and desolation haunt him to this day. ‘I had little idea, really, little true appreciation for the power of ideas, the power of freedom.’

Robert continues to earn critical recognition. He has been chosen twice to participate in the prestigious ‘Art of the Northeast’ in New Canaan, Connecticut. Most recently he was chosen to design a bronze 9/11 memorial tribute honoring four firefighters who perished in the North Tower. This piece is now on permanent display down near the WTC.

As an emerging artist gathering admirers internationally, Robert considers his art to be an important message, challenge and responsibility. He delivers the message, challenge and responsibility artfully. In Robert’s own words, ‘There has been a poignant thread that runs through my adult life tying it all together. I am continually more involved in creating works that touch on freedom, spirituality and overcoming self-limitations. It's my intention to contribute to the body of work that awakens the soul to itself.’

Frank Kern Changed My Life Tonight

I was sent an email by Kyle Griffith tonight which was an invitation to a presentation given by Frank Kern

Here is the link

http://getcoreinfluence.com/?ref=G1Ud7gW4uo2fYSHW

The BEST piece that came out of this one hour presentation was the following question...

If there were no limitations and no consequences what would your perfect day look like?

If you take the time to think about this question and draft an answer, I think, it will change your life too.... for if each of us took the time to think about that most perfect day, how would you reconstruct your business and your life to accomodate the continuation of creating more perfect days...

It struck me like a bolt of lightening.

I suddenly remembered that I have lived an incredible life, and have had an amazing opportunity to so many of the things that I have "wanted" to do and that have enriched my life in so many ways...and it has been the experience that has given me greater courage to continue to expand my life, my options and to live each day so much more fully.

If I can affect my clients in this way...to give but one day of living their dream to its fullest potential, then I will have succeeded, for from that there is no return but to do MORE of it.

Take the challenge if you will.

I look forward to your results, your reflections and your comments here...and if there is anything that I can do to further you towards your "perfect" day in YOUR life, then I will do everything possible to help you achieve it.

I am so excited to see what comes out of this note, probably more than any other post I have ever created here on Face Book...

For if you have a "taste" of the life you seek, you can never settle, again for that which does not bring you the greatest joy

With SINCERE gratitude to Kyle Griffith for sharing Frank's post with me tonight.

Always
Sian Lindemann

So I encourage you to do the same thing.
Listen to the presentation that Frank has shared with you here today.

Answer the question...

and I so look forward to your comments on what you will do to accomplish your perfect day.
Let's do everything we can do to share, support and encourage all of those around us to live that perfect day...so that everyday of your dreams now becomes the LIFE you now have

I started drawing at a very early age, and always felt like I was in another world when I was being creative. It helped me through my childhood, which was very rough. At age 10, I was able to impress almost anyone with my drawings of flowers, which was my only real passion. This was directly connected to my support, which came from my father. He had a passion for flowers, and he'd be really happy when I paid attention to that in my art. When I was 13, I stopped drawing, sank into depression and worse for years and years, until I started drawing again at age 20. This time I knew I'd have to draw if I wanted to live. Somehow those two things are connected. Since then, I have been painting and drawing with and on everything I possibly could. Over the years, I have evolved a style that is unlike any other I have seen so far. I have never taken any classes. When I was taking my education though, I had to go through an art class, and I was miserable there, being forced to create things that meant nothing to me. When the day of exam came, my assignment was to draw a horse, then pull a question and tell about the aspect of art that the question was pointed to. I drew a serial killer whom I was fascinated with at the time instead of the horse, and my teacher wanted to give me a D. I passed though, because I was lucky enough to know the answers to my questions. And phew.

The Artist As Patron

Philanthropy and The Arts

Its long been known that artists are the greatest of Philanthropists for in the course of their professional careers...they are most "often" asked to donate an original painting to a variety of "causes."

In order to build the wing of the new Children's Hospital, to underwrite the need for pure water in 3rd World Countries, to fund the "Arts Umbrella," a local school or group that offers arts programs to kids...and a variety of other topics and programs.

And the artist "delivers..."

They, on the verge of a decision of whether to "eat" or to buy new art supplies, they consistently find a way to purchase the materials to create that new painting, and secure the canvas, the paint, get it framed and thus, deliver the original works to the Event. The image is donated to the organization which is then "auctioned" to its patrons.

Often the image goes off the chopping block at a significantly reduced price than what is should sell for. All of this is good and fine and noble...yet the artist rarely benefits from a "future" sale because they have donated to the cause. They may in fact only receive entry into the event, as be given an evening of entertainment and perhaps "dinner" for having participated in the Fundraiser.

All of this is "good" ~ However, doesn't one wonder how on earth the artist continues to exist, to feed oneself, and how, particularly, the artist continues to muster the courage to paint, create and give their art to a variety of options that may or may not pay them for their time.

It is only within the culture of the United States, that few seem to rise to the top of the industry, and garner the feature of acclaimed and wealthy patrons...thus creating a sustained income.

So over the years, it has been my "job" to find ways that the artist can continue to exist, can adapt their work to a variety of options, either in "print" art or in the continued acquisition and sale of original works.

And I always find a way ~ Always ~ and then of course, it is a decision whether the artist chooses to participate in the method of distribution....so its a catch - 22 for the artist and for the promoter.

Both take significant risks in regard to representation of the collections, the artist and must trust the artist's capacity to deliver. Sometimes there is an explosion, if you will, an inability to "come" to a meeting of minds....and both suffer losses....

The artist, for an unwillingness to "go" where the work is being called, and the broker in an inability to find a niche market best suited for the work, to which the artist will agree.

I have encountered both situations, as artist and as Representative and Agent.

The mutual participation requires an Act of Faith that is no less than I'm sure what is called upon from most devotees of a particular "religion" ~ There requires intrinsic faith, in both parties....and the process takes time. There are NO quick fixes in this industry....

With that I have thought long and hard, worked both as Agent, Gallery Owner, Representative, Liason...and ultimately "artist" and can come to the table with a significantly "broadened" perspective on the topic.

I have reached the following conclusion. The "artist's" abiluty to "intuit" how not only to create the original work and paint it is also the force that must be utilized by the Agent to maximize potential and placement in the Arts....as a remunerative "business." And there needs to be a "trust" placed in the Agent's hands to find the best situation for this to occur.

This takes time...and in my experience can happen quickly if the artist gives the Agent "reign" to place the works.....it takes longer in regard to planning and developing a long term strategy for the works and their placement.

Being at the whim of galleries is "risky" but it is equally "risky' to be at the whim of the artist ~ Both can suffer, but I prefer to design how "both" can win.

Add the mix of a very unstable enconomy and its a recipe for "Perfection" in a very different method of presentation...or could spell disaster for most.

There are two positive things that are occurring now...as we come full circle operating in an economy that has 'broken" many or severely "humbled" others. One must find a new way....and we have...

I would invite you to participate in a new program created by Sian Design, fostered and supported by Fett Marketing and its CEO, Chris Kauza. For nearly two years we have put our heads together over this one.....and by adopting the "tool" of Social Media and technology we have sincerely re-invented the way in which artists can and will be supported in these very trying times.

Please take a look at our link

ART ABILITY WORLD
http://www.artabilityworld.com

And we are asking you, the artist to give yourself the "gift" of promotion through Social Media with our methods.

We have, over the last year and a half run 6 successful campaigns that have brought success to a variety to projects, some non profit fundraising, others retail sales and all within the realm of using the art in a way to tell both ITS story and the story of the artist.

By participating you will benefit in a variety of ways.

And the cost to you the artist for the term of one year is only $8.88

Yes you heard me $8.88 (eight dollars and eighty eight cents.)

Its an incredible opportunity to build your visibility, through Social Media, and to garner potential placement in events, exhibitions and projects that we are working on.....and at this time it is the initial way that I can ask you to invest in yourself.

Again, review this link http://www.artabilityworld.com
And this link in particular to join us

http://artabilityworld.com/shanghai-world-expo-2010/

For it is through the methods that we are using that we have secured Exhibition opportunities for artists at Shanghai World Expo ~ and this is the initial requirement for consideration....

I welcome your participation and I look forward to being able to further your success in the Fine Arts Industries...which is inclusive of Music, Performance, Dance, Sculpting, Painting, Photography ~ There are no limits on my thinking, and there are no limits to finding a way.....to succeed.

Its been my complete commitment for over 30 years. And on both sides of the coin, Artist and Agent ~ we have always found a "way"

Thank you
